The settling-in process

We understand settling in as a unique and respectful process in which each child sets their own pace of separation. The bond with their carers is built gradually and without forcing, through close observation. We coordinate timings with each family in an initial meeting and throughout the whole process, seeking a balance between the child’s needs and the family’s reality.

Calendar and hours

• The school year follows the official calendar of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and we extend it with three additional weeks in summer.
• Hours: 9:00 to 15:30.
• Early and late care: Early care from 8:30 to 9:00 and late care from 15:30 to 16:30 are possible (with a minimum and maximum number of children).

Food

• Shared meals: Families cook and bring lunch for the whole group, encouraging homemade, shared food. A rota is drawn up in which each family cooks once every 13 working days.
• Option not to cook: For families who, for work–life balance reasons, cannot take their turn, we offer the possibility of being exempt from preparing the meal by paying a compensatory fee (ask for the amount).

Meetings and communication

• Close daily communication: We are in touch every day, at both arrival and departure, to share the child’s day-to-day life.
• Individual meetings: We offer two individual meetings per school year with each family for personalised follow-up, with the flexibility to meet more often if either side needs it.
• Group meetings: Once a term, all the adults of the space meet. It is a place to share group experiences, resolve practical questions and explore parenting topics in more depth.
